BALL STATE ATHLETICS FACILITIES
Ball State University is committed to providing its student-athletes with all of the necessary tools to compete on the field and in the classroom, while providing the "Best Fans in the Mid-American Conference" with outstanding environments to cheer on their Cardinals.
In 2007, BSU Football's Scheumann Stadium was reopened after a $13.6 million face lift which not only transformed the stadium into a major community asset, but also made it one of the premier venues in the Mid-American Conference.
In addition, Worthen Arena remains one of the top basketball and volleyball venues in the country, rating as one of the toughest places for opponents to play in both sports.

In April of 2012, Ball State had a ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Ken and Peggy Briner Sports Complex at the entrance just north of Scheumann Stadium.
Ken and Peggy Briner provided the lead gift for the Briner Sports Complex. The naming of the complex is in recognition of the longtime supporters of Ball State athletics who are members of the Cardinal Varsity Club's Hall of Fame level of giving.
A 1969 graduate of Ball State, Ken Briner recently retired from Muncie Power Products as senior vice president of operations. He serves as a director on the Ball State Foundation Board and was a member of the Bold National Campaign Committee. Peggy Briner is a founding member of Ball State's Discovery group. They are both active members of the First Brethren Church of Muncie.
The $1.7 million project covers 10.4 acres and includes facilities improvements for women's soccer, field hockey and track and field. The Briner Sports Complex includes a soccer turf field, a field hockey field, two operations booths, two scoreboards, an arched entrance and throw and field events areas for track.
